Is Palliative Care Right for Me?

Palliative care may be suitable for you if you are suffering from pain, stress or other symptoms caused by a serious illness. There are many types of serious illnesses, including heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, dementia, Parkinsonism, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple sclerosis and others.

When Should I Consider Palliative Care?

You may seek out palliative care at any stage of your illness, even at the point of diagnosis or alongside curative treatments. You don't have to wait until your disease has reached an advanced stage or when you're in the final months of life; in fact, the earlier you start palliative care, the better it is for your comfort and well-being.
